Stop The Yo-Yo Dieting

When it comes to weight loss you have to be very careful in the things that you do and the techniques that you are going to be using. It is possible to lose the weight – but trying to keep it off is a whole other story. There are many people, even famous ones, that have a huge problem with yo-yo dieting.

What Causes It

One of the biggest problems with this is that people will often start a weight loss plan that is impractical. Take Oprah for example. One of the times that she lost a lot of weight she used a juice diet. Sure, this helped her to drop the weight quickly – but when she was done she ate normal food again.

When you lose weight in such a dramatic fashion you will drop the pounds dramatically. When you reintroduce the calorie amount and the type of foods that you denied your body for a month or more than it will cling hard to that. It is like a life line and it will hold onto the fat and not want to let go. This is the starvation mode.

How To Avoid It

The best thing that you could do is start a weight loss plan that is life changing. When you do something like Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig you are able to change the type of food that you eat and the amount of calories you consume. You are incorporating things that are great to eat every day – but are healthier for you.

Once the weight is gone do not use that as an excuse to stop exercising or to start eating junk food again. Remember what it felt like to be overweight and how you do not want to lose that control ever again.
